Platform Engineer

Project - the aim you'll have

To work on the best on the market AI-powered system for managing legal documentation (court cases). Your main responsibilities will include working on a document workflow tailored to the legal industry, managing powerful search features (handling terabytes of data and millions of documents) and creating a case strategy.

Technology stack: 

  • Programming Languages: Kotlin, Python, Java
  • Cloud Provider – AWS: EC2, Lambda, Aurora MySQL, Redshift, DynamoDB, ECS, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, S3, CloudFront, CloudFormation, SageMaker, KMS, CodePipeline, etc. 
  • DSL-based Search: multiple large scale Elasticsearch Clusters  
  • Event Bus: Kafka and Schema Registry 
  • 3rd Party Vendors: Redis, Auth0 for Cloud Identity Federation (SSO, SAML, etc). 
  • AI: MinHash, Word2Vec, Convolution Neural Nets, Algorithmia (Lambda with GPUs) for training, PyTorch, Recurrent Neural Networks, Latent Dirichlet Allocation for Topic Modeling, 
  • CI/CD: Terraform, Docker (via ECS), Jenkins, CodePipeline, GitHub, Artifactory, Consul for: App Config, Service Discovery, Shared Secrets. 
  • Visibility: ELK Stack for logging, Data Dog, New Relic, 
  • Transport Mechanisms: Protobuf, Avro, HTTP Rest/JSON 
Position - how you'll contribute
  • Transforming technical requirements into well-crafted services & components 
  • Fully owning services & components from planning and coding to testing and monitoring up to running them in production 
  • Working collaboratively inside and outside of your team to deliver business value 
  • Participating in, contributing to and owning architectural designs 
  • Being part of a continuous improvement culture, identifying and addressing engineering opportunities 
Expectations - the experience you need
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in Backend development or (preferably) mix of Backend and DevOps-oriented work  
  • Very good knowledge of Java/Kotlin – hands-on development
  • Experience working with non-relational databases 
  • Experience creating cloud-based distributed system architecture 
  • Background working with systems processing large amounts of data 
  • Very good experience in at least 2 of the following areas: 
  • Big data and data stores 
  • Microservice architecture 
  • Infrastructure orchestration 
  • Cloud computing 
  • Infrastructure automatization
