Principal System Engineer (Linux)
Project - the aim you'll have
We are looking for a Principal Linux Engineer with deep expertise in managing complex on-premise Linux infrastructures, lifecycle and configuration management, automation, and virtualization. You will join a senior Polish engineering team delivering managed services for a leading IT infrastructure provider in the Netherlands, working with advanced technologies across Linux distributions, automation platforms, observability stacks, and security domains such as IAM and IPAM.
Position - how you'll contribute
- Day to day support and maintenance of various platforms and services
- Linux system maintenance
- Lifecycle Management
- Configuration Management
- Systems and process automation
Expectations - the experience you need
Advanced knowledge and experience in:
- Configuration and maintenance of Linux distributions like RHEL, OL and Ubuntu
- Manual and automatic methods of deployment for mentioned Linux distributions
- Shell scripting as well well as at least one other programming language (preferably Python)
- Using Ansible to manage systems and processes
- Reverse engineering of systems and platforms
- Virtualisation (VMware, OpenStack, KVM, libvirt, qemu)
- Observability stack:
– Monitoring (Icinga, Grafana stack, Nagios, Zabbix)
– Logging (OpenSearch, Grafana stack, NXLog, GrayLog)
– Metrics and Traces - Creating and maintaining technical documentation

- Using, configuring and maintaining Automation Platforms (preferably AAP/AWX)
