Senior Platform /Cloud Engineer

Project – the aim you’ll have

Shared Services is the largest department within the Client , sitting at the core of the business. Our mission is to enable the rest of the business by delivering secure, resilient, and performant applications and platforms to users globally. The department specialises in three areas: Application Development and Enablement, Data Services, Technology and Service Delivery and Innovation The Platform Engineering team, part of the Cloud and Infrastructure Platforms area within Technology and Service Delivery, is responsible for accelerating application delivery by automating the provisioning of resources and application needs. We focus on maintaining and developing infrastructure as code deployments and processes, enhancing how developers interact with platforms to reduce application provisioning time. 

Position – how you’ll contribute

Provide engineering capabilities to support the delivery of change aligned to business objectives, particularly around simplifying how we provision, manage and decommission the resources an application requires to run over its lifecycle  Provides input into the shaping, planning and execution of projects in the team and wider department  Foster relationships with our customers to help improve the service we offer  Coaches and supports others as needed.

Expectations – the experience you need

Deep knowledge of Azure especially when coupled with extensive Terraform and Cloud Adoption Framework experience. 

• Some familiarity with other public clouds such as GCP and AWS is beneficial
• Experience of key automation and other enabling tool sets including but not limited to Terraform, observability and source control products 
• Experience of developing and maintaining developer self-service platforms
