Senior Test Automation Engineer

We are looking for someone to join our growing team to take forward test automation and set up frameworks on multiple application types and platforms including Web, Mobile, and Microservices (Api). As part of the team, you will contribute to the planning, design, and implementation of test automation frameworks using best-practice techniques and principles. We anticipate that with your industry-standard and best practice knowledge that you will spend your time coding automated test scripts and work widely and closely across the company, and within the project team.

• Attend daily team meetings/ Agile meetings;
• Produce quality, scalable and maintainable automated testing frameworks, including analyzing test runs in order to:

1. Review results of regular (nightly) test runs;
2. Analyze reason of test runs failures;
3. Fix automated test scripts (if any problems found);
4. Investigate defects found by tests/ Submit defects found by tests.

• Analyse user stories and write acceptance criteria, get them reviewed by Product team;
• Ensure quality of JavaScript applications, node.js and NPM and knowledge of XML, HTML, CSS;
• Overall development programming, including improving code base through test scripts and frameworks, in addition to performing peer code reviews;
• Design and test automation scripts using open-source and COTS tools (e.g. Selenium/Protractor/BDD/Appium/Browser Stack/Rest Assured/Postman), including:

1. Read and understand requirements;
2. Write test cases;
3. Read test cases prepared by others and seek clarity as needed;
4. Write test scripts covering test cases;

• Debug written scripts to make it stable.

• Minimum two years of experience in Automation testing;
• Strong programming knowledge. While Java and JavaScript programming and development will be helpful, being able to code is a must for the role;
• Skilled in automation languages (Java, JavaScript, Python or Ruby);
• In-depth understanding of software development tools such as Jira;
• Experience in using database technologies for querying (e.g. SQL);
• With your strong foundation in working in CI and CD pipeline (with Heroku/Jenkins and AWS) and GitHub you will have an in-depth understanding end-to-end delivery pipeline, including Amazon services;
• Through your advanced understanding of best design principles and OOPS concepts, you will actively contribute to the quality of our product.
• Knowledge and understanding of testing principles. You excel in creating test scenarios and acceptance tests against user stories, using your skills to think creatively around the wider issues;
• Good communication (written and verbal) in English and interpersonal skills. You’re comfortable using a variety of mediums to communicate, and can interact and empathize with varying levels of internal stakeholders;
• Analytical and logical thinking. With a natural curiosity, you will be able to consider the bigger picture while asking questions to understand any problem and identify the strengths and weaknesses of any system.
