Business Analyst

Our award-winning smart data pipe extracts, standardizes and analyses small business accounting data via robust APIs, putting it directly in the hands of those that need it so they can do their jobs faster and smarter.
- Act as the bridge between business and technology data‑sharing and API‑driven platform, ensuring requirements are clear, actionable, and aligned with client and regulatory needs.
- Translate complex data‑exchange scenarios into user stories with precise acceptance criteria, maintaining a well‑prioritized backlog.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Engineering, and Architecture to refine stories around API estate, roles & permissions, and secure data flows.
- Document and validate API specifications (OpenAPI/Swagger), interface contracts, and integration patterns that underpin connectivity with accounting platforms and financial institutions.
- Support UAT and trace requirements through build and test, ensuring delivery meets compliance and business value.
- Facilitate workshops with internal teams and external stakeholders to clarify scope, dependencies, and success metrics.
- 3–5+ years as a Business Analyst or Product Owner on data‑focused platforms, ideally in fintech, SaaS, or API‑integration environments.
- Proven ability to create and refine user stories and manage backlog ceremonies in Agile/Scrum teams (Jira).
- Hands‑on experience with API design and consumption: request/response modelling, versioning, and non‑functional considerations (security, scalability, resilience).
- Familiarity with roles & permissions frameworks (RBAC/ABAC), OAuth2/OIDC, and secure data‑exchange principles.
- Strong understanding of data fundamentals: data mapping, validation, and practical SQL for troubleshooting and analysis.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, requirements elicitation, and documentation using Confluence.
- Experience in financial data integration, accounting platform connectivity, or API ecosystems.
- Knowledge of security and compliance standards relevant to financial data (GDPR, SOC, ISO).
- Familiarity with event‑driven architectures, webhooks, and integration styles beyond REST.
- Tooling proficiency: Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, JSON/XML, and diagramming tools.
- Ability to design acceptance test scenarios and collaborate closely with QA for coverage and traceability.
- Certifications are a plus, but practical experience is key.
