Senior Back-end Software Engineer (Java + JSP)

We are seeking an experienced developer with strong JSP and CSS expertise to work on the modernization of our trade finance platform’s user interface. The ideal candidate will transform our legacy system into a vibrant, modern application while maintaining functionality and enhancing user experience.

• Lead the modernization of a legacy JSP-based trade finance system, revamping it with modern UI/UX principles while maintaining robust backend functionality.
• Develop and maintain scalable, high-quality Java-based backend applications in a complex enterprise environment.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand workflows and user needs, translating them into technical solutions.
• Work independently to implement features and improvements, even when specifications are incomplete.
• Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and security throughout the development lifecycle.
• Identify opportunities for architectural or UI/UX improvements and proactively propose solutions.

• 5+ years of experience as a Java Developer, with a proven track record in building scalable, high-quality backend applications.
• Experience with the Spring Framework and Java REST APIs.
• Proficiency with SQL and relational databases.
• Previous experience with JSP and frontend technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
• Familiarity with SOLID and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles.
• Experience in UI/UX improvements, particularly in transitioning from legacy interfaces to modern designs.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
