MySQL Database Administrator
You will be a part of an agile team of Polish and British developers that deliver document management software for clinical research. You’ll join a DevOps and Cloud engineering team as a DBA expert – this is a new role in the team. We’re looking for someone with a very proactive attitude – you’ll create, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot entire database environments. We need a battle-hardened expert that can jump in and manage DB environments!
- Optimizing the database server setup from VM and OS level config to MySQL server settings (i.e., reviewing and remediating MySQL server configuration, resolving replication issues)
- Providing optimized queries for development (at least in MySQL, but preferably in T-SQL)
- Proactively monitoring and intercepting issues like slowness as well as constantly eliminating any issues
- Providing input on current architecture setup
- Serving as a SME for people to reach out when it comes to DB queries
- At least 4 years’ commercial experience in database administration
- Expertise in the SQL language
- Experience in maintaining and monitoring database performance and configuration via monitoring tools
- Experience in implementing changes and applying new versions when required
- Experience with data models / architecture / design for relational and non-relational databases
- Good knowledge of and experience with MySQL Workbench, phpMyAdmin, Novicat for MySQL or other database admin tools
- Being self-sufficient – you will work under general direction from the Head of DevOps and Cloud team
- Being super proactive – if you notice any issues such as rep issues, you’ll identify them yourself and provide a long-term solution
